Counting the cost of carbon emissions

Counting the cost of carbon emissions

Financial Times (Supplement: Business and Climate Change), 15 February 2004, p4

Fiona Harvey comments on how rising oil prices, and the pressure to curb greenhouse gas emissions, is forcing executives to take a look at energy efficiency.

Dr Paul Toyne, Director of Article 13 explains in the article: "as global oil production has peaked, it is likely that oil prices will remain high and increase further. This will bring further costs to business. So, acting now and reducing energy consumption makes good long term sense, and makes the initial investment in energy efficiency programmes worthwhile."
