Parceline - a review of CSR practice and recommendations

Client challenge

Parceline focused on charitable activity as its contribution to CSR.  The majority of this was in support of the 'Golden challenge'.  Parceline was keen to feel it was 'giving something back', reflecting a genuine philanthropic desire from senior management.  Yet to translate philanthropy into CSR required more than just giving of money.  It required an embedded and integrated strategic approach across the company’s business including going beyond compliance on regulated areas.

What did we do?

Article 13 were commissioned to undertake a review of corporate social responsibility (CSR) practice in Parceline, and benchmark this against other companies.  The purpose of the assessment was to provide an overview health check of Parceline’s CSR activities and develop recommendations as to what areas they were, and were not, doing enough in.  Article 13 facilitated this discussion and then came up with some headline recommendations based on its findings.

After carrying out interviews with members of Parceline’s senior management team, Article 13 then carried out a benchmarking exercise into best practice in CSR among eight companies.  The analysis looked at what activities they were doing and what headlines were being generated.  Article 13 also reviewed what Parceline’s competitors were doing in CSR.

Innovation PLUS

Article 13 took a specific angle to CSR and approached it from a perspective that enabled a large organisation to identify with the issues of CSR and create a genuine philanthropic strategy.  Using our extensive networks in the sphere of CSR reporting we were very quickly able to benchmark and comment on where Parceline were placed and provide an informative report giving the client clear guidance as to the way forward.
